Jim has been playing volleyball since he was a kid and started playing in leagues in his early 20's at the YMCA. He started out with EVC as an official the first year of the club. He was the Head Varsity Coach at PND HS for 4 years. Coach Smalley has been actively coaching club volleyball in the area for the past 13 years, and has coached junior high volleyball for 7 years. Jim also has 12 years of running a K-8 Soccer program in the Limestone area. He is a great fundamentals trainer, and has done many clinics in the area. Coach Smalley is known for his intensity on the court, his team's great blocking prowess, and the respect he garners from his players. His personality and fun loving nature will lend itself well to the goals and expectations of EVC in the future.

Jen is one of the current Travel coaches at EVC. She played at both Illinois Central College (ICC) and Bradley University. At ICC, Jennifer was the first athletic scholarship recipient and led her team to back to back 9th place finishes in NJCAA Division 1 nationals. She was also named to the All American team as a sophomore and earned a Scholarship to Bradley as a setter. Jennifer has in turn, helped develop many of the area's top setters over the past 11 years. She has coached at EVC for the past 11 years and has also coached 1 year as the freshman coach at Morton HS and Assisted with the sophomore team at Richwoods HS this past year. She is well known in the area for her intense coaching of all skills, especially the setters. She strives to pull out the best in any athlete that step on the court with her physically and mentally, thru her intense practices. She has also recorded the highest finish with a EVC team in a National Qualifier taking that team to a overall record of 73-19. She credits all her accomplishments to hard work and her previous coaching staff. She has played for: Sandi Lynn, Head Coach Illinois State University, 1982-1986. Evelyn Kim, ISU player and Korean National Team. Julie Mueller-Paska, one of the greatest players in ISU history. Pete Waite, current Wisconsin coach. He is also known by many as "Barney". He started playing recreation volleyball 10 years ago. He has been tasked with recruiting because he knows what it takes to get the players exposed and signed and along the way he has learned to coach from one of our best (Jennifer Bartlett) and has 2 years experience coaching the 14U Elite team. He attended ICC and ISU and played baseball with Jim Thome. He works for CampusTown Supply in Normal. He likes to work in the yard and watch sports of all kinds and really dislikes dishonest and mean people.

Blaire played volleyball at Tremont High School as an Outside Hitter, graduating in 2001. She was selected as All-Conference her junior and senior years and was also selected to play in the Eastside All-Star Tournament. She played club for EVC for 4 years under Jim Smalley. She also coached a 12U team in 2000 and 2001. After high school she received a Bachelor's Degree at SIU-Carbondale and a Master's Degree at Saint Louis University. She currently works as a school social worker at Galesburg High School. She is excited to return to the world of volleyball to coach today's youth as well as bring interest to her 3 year old daughter and future volleyball star!!

Erin is a 2003 grad of Bismarck-Henning HS. She played all four seasons as a middle hitter and received All Vermilion County and All ICC Conference honors as a senior. She also was a middle hitter for three seasons for Wild Watermelons VBC. In fall 2003, she joined the North Central College Lady Cardinals and played middle/right side hitter for one season. After transferring to Eastern Illinois, I officiated IESA volleyball for two seasons. She is very excited to begin her coaching career here at Eastside VBC. She currently resides in Bartonville where she is the Social Worker at Limestone High School.

Danielle played volleyball for Washington HS. She played club ball for EVC and Washington. She went to college at Robert Morris University and graduated in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in management. Currently she works at Robert Morris in admissions and head women's volleyball coach. She is really excited about returning as a coach for EVC. She coached a 12U team back in 2002.
